SAFETY CABIN OPERATIONS
The Cabin Crew is not only designated to provide the inflight services to the passengers, its main responsibility is to perform Safety Duties in the passenger cabin in accordance with the requirements of the Authority and the operator.
The Cabin Crew has to be properly trained and qualified every time that is performing its duties on board for Normal, Abnormal and Emergency Situations and enact procedures to ensure a safe and orderly evacuation of passenger when necessary.
A safe flight starts prior to the departure.
SAFETY PRIOR DEPARTURE
CREW BRIEFINGS
- The preflight briefing is an important component of flight preparations. It encourages communication and teamwork, builds rapport among crew members and promotes high team performance.
 - Communication and coordination between the flight crew and cabin crew is crucial and is an integral part of normal, abnormal and emergency procedures.
 - A joint briefing enhances the One Team – One Crew concept. This, in turn, has a positive impact on the safety of the flight.
 
SAFETY EQUIPMENT CHECK
- Prior to boarding passengers, cabin crew must check all cabin safety, communications and other equipment to ensure that they are in full working order.
 - Each safety equipment must be in the place designated with a placard and properly secured.
 - CC1 must consult the CML before each flight and show it to the Captain in order to transfer the safety related items into the Aircraft Tech Log Book.
 - Once the items have been repaired or deferred, a Licensed Engineer will complete an “Action Taken” log entry.
 
LAVATORY CHECKS
- For safety reasons, Cabin Crew must advise to Flight Crew or Ground Engineer immediately in case of:
 - The waste compartment flapper door cannot close properly.
 - The call push-button does not work.
 - The return to cabin sign does not illuminate.
 - The smoke detector looks obstructed.
